Funeral Service for Leslie Allen Adkins, 49 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow at James Cemetery (Calhoun) in Calhoun, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
He was born on June 17, 1974 in to Lavina (James) Adkins and Omar Leslie Adkins and passed away on April 29, 2024 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Sally James; and grandfather, Warren James. Leslie retired from Coal mining due to health issues. He loved his job. He loved fishing and listening to ACDC, Metallica, and Ozzy. And drinking a cold beer with his sisters, when we weren't arguing. He loved playing horseshoes and dominos. He loved seeing his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his sister, Trudy Fay Walkup, Rose Marie Adkins, and Evelyn Marie Lewis; nephews, Derek Kirchner, Michael Hammers, Anthony Lewis, and Brandon Cleland; nieces, Kara Kirchner, and Amber Walkup; great nieces, Autumn Tabor, Cali Lovell, Sadie Tabor, Apple Lejeune, Bella Kirchner; great nephews, Ashton Kirchner, and Joe Lejeune; numerous other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Derek Kirchner, Bradley Adkins, Brandon Cleland, Timmy Dale, Justin James, and Scotty Cleland.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Teddy James.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
